The autumn season means cooling temperatures, new outdoor sports and activities, lots of pumpkin spice, and of course back to school (or college). It also means new styling from clothing and also nails. While unfortunately your pedicures may need to be covered up by closed shoes in the colder air, there are still many chances to show off your nails in the fall! In fact, the new season brings about even more styles to try out. Here are some considerations for the fall season when it comes to nails:
1) Seasonal Colors & Designs:
With the new autumn season, there are a few types of popular nail styles that will be sure to look and feel great! While we never want to limit creativity, these are some popular styles that are sure to impress this fall:
- Burgundy & Orange Shades: Absolutely a perfect fit for the fall, these colors are a surefire fit. Danni & Toni offers some great shades for these, including Marroon, Orange Crystal, and Garnett Gaze – among others
- Brown & Nude Accents: Another type of color that does well in the fall are nude and brown shades. These can run the gamut between very light tones to dark impact brown colors, and are sure to look great for any occasion. Try out Cocoa Glow and Chic Nude as a couple example of these shades.
- Ombres & Gradients: Ombre styles fit the fall as well as anything, especially when they involve classic autumn colors. You really can’t go wrong with the gradient styles you choose, but we recommend Earthy Ombre and Twilight as customer favorites!
- Metallics: Some people are hesitant to try metallic nails, but they work with the season surprisingly well! Gold, copper, and silver type tones can add some shine without being too overwhelming – for an impactful yet classy look. Take a look at Black Tie Affair and Bronze Goddess for some examples.
- Halloween Fun: it’s not here yet, but Halloween will be arriving soon! Danni & Toni has some spectacular seasonal designs for it – from fun to glowing to creepy – so keep your eyes out for coming new patterns and promotions!
2) Fall Nail Care
As temperatures change, your body and fingers also can react differently. Luckilly, Danni & Toni nails have thick gel and are made to adapt to changing seasons. Here are a few suggestions to keep your nails happy when using semicured gel stickers:
- Get High Quality Real Gel Nail Strips: Some brands will work better than others in changing temperatures, and cheaper brands can tend to not last. By getting a trusted brand like Danni & Toni you can be sure you’ll have long-lasting and durable nails.
- Moisturize Your Cuticles: Cold weather can dry out your hands and nails, so using cuticle oil or other moisturizers regularly help to prevent cracking or dryness.
- Prevent Lifting: Frostier air can sometimes cause the nail strips to lift more easily. So make sure your nails are thoroughly clean and free of oils before application for better adhesion.
- Good Storage: Keep your unused gel nail strips in a cool, dry place. Extreme temperature changes, common in the fall, can affect the adhesive quality of the strips.
By considering these tips, your gel nail strips will stay fresh and fashionable throughout the fall season!
3) Styling Considerations
Here are a few ideas for styling coordination. Feel free to try your own or send your thoughts to us at info@dannitoni.com and we will share them!
- Match with Fabrics: Coordinate your nails with the textures of your fall fabrics. For example - if you wear knits, flannels, or tweed, choose matte finishes or designs that mimic fall textures, such as sweater-pattern gel nail strips. If your wardrobe features lots of plaid, you might want to match your nails with the same colors or opt for plaid-patterned gel strips to echo your clothing.
- Integrating Nail Art & Accessories: Metallic nail strips in gold, bronze, or rose gold pair beautifully with gold or bronze jewelry (or bag chains), complementing both your outfit and accessories. If your outfit is simple, such as a neutral sweater and jeans, you can go bold with your nail art – with fall theme or pattern designs.
- Footwear and Nails Coordination: Fall is boot season! Coordinate your nail strips with your footwear. Dark green nails with brown boots or burgundy nails with black leather boots create a balanced and thoughtful look.
We hope that with these tips, you'll be able to maximize your nail fun this autumn! And get ready - since there will be a lot of fun new styles and promotions coming up from now through the holidays.
